Dr. Gustavo A. Vallejo is a physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, dedicated to improving patients’ quality of life through prevention, early diagnosis, and comprehensive management of diabetes and metabolic disorders.
His clinical interests include diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, thyroid disorders, and general endocrinology. Dr. Vallejo earned his medical degree from the School of Medicine at the National University of Honduras. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Instituto Nacional de Nutrición in Mexico City, one of the leading centers for metabolic and nutritional diseases in Latin America. Dr. Vallejo pursued advanced training in Endocrinology and Diabetes at the University of Vermont and at Jackson Memorial Hospital, affiliated with the University of Miami in Miami, Florida, where he further developed his expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine and metabolic conditions. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Vallejo has a strong interest in the history of medicine. He is the author of two books published in Spanish: one focusing on the Nobel Prizes in Physiology or Medicine and another on the history of insulin.
